This one starts here.

A learning journal, not a textbook

I want to be upfront about something: I am not a quantum physicist. I’m a programmer who got genuinely obsessed with quantum computing and decided to document the journey publicly.

This blog is my attempt to learn in the open. Every post is a record of something I read, understood, misunderstood, or found worth thinking about. If you’re an expert and I get something wrong — and I will — I’d rather know about it than not. If you’re also at the beginning of this journey, maybe what I write will save you some time.

About

Andrzej Dubaj

Programmer and quantum computing enthusiast based in Warsaw, Poland.

Background

I’ve been writing code professionally for over a decade. Started on the JVM, moved through data engineering, and ended up deep in quantum computing — which is where I plan to stay for a while.

I maintain two public projects:

handsonprogramming.io — general tech blog running since 2016. Over 170 posts covering Linux, Docker, data engineering, hardware, and random things from the internet.

this-week-in-quantum.org — weekly digest of quantum computing news. Launched March 2026. Short, focused, no hype.

What is QuantumDNA?

QuantumDNA is the longer-form companion to This Week in Quantum. Where the digest is short and weekly, this blog is for deeper dives — algorithm breakdowns, hardware analysis, opinion pieces, and the occasional linkblog post when something interesting crosses my desk.

Calendar
